Civil rights activists,political advisor,businesswoman,and mentorwas auguably the most politically influential African American woman in Seattle in the latter half of the twentieth century.Born in Seattle General General Hospital.She never knew her birth parents.When she was eight months,old Freddie G.Hurd, a bakery, owner,and his wife,Minnie Purnell Hurd, adopted her.Her birth certificate listed her as white,Freddie identified herself as a "Negro" woman.
